Middle School Council Minutes
Minutes from the May 27 School Council Meeting were
approved as submitted.
Nancy

was taking students to purchase lunch.

can be done, especially at our third lunch.

Mike Gallagher gave a brief update
on the 9th Grade Campus, now being called Freshman Campus. The core team met for an intense retreat in
August. The plan is to open on time with
a projected enrollment of 900 students (capacity.)
Corrine discussed the new
District-wide method for preparing the Continuous Improvement Plan. A CIP Core Team of teachers has been
developed. They have been working on
Phase 1, “Assessing Readiness,” since August.
Vanessa Logue and Sandy Grace are both on the CIP Team with Corrine and
they will keep School Council updated on what is happening.
Corrine handed out copies of the
Operating Norms that the staff came up with as a replacement to the current
“Code of Cooperation.” She asked for
comments or suggestions to be e-mailed to her as soon as possible. There was discussion on whether the School
Council wanted to adopt something similar.
Sandie will e-mail the “Code of Cooperation” to members to review and
the issue will be brought back to the next meeting.
Marianne discussed the Site Council
Self-Assessment Survey that was previously distributed and how the results
would be reported to the District. It
was agreed that surveys would be collected and Marianne would compile the data. The results will be brought back to the next
meeting.
