New Business
Ron reported that
there would be a brief “stand up” staff meeting on Friday, April 26 after
school to vote on a Contract Waiver that would allow teachers to exchange their
individual planning day on Friday, 8/30 for Wednesday, 8/28 in order to have a
four-day Labor Day weekend. The waiver
must have 100% to pass, however, if a teacher does not want to come in a day
early, they can still make it up on Friday, 8/30.
Nancy Campi
presented a Draft of the IMS Council Bylaws for review.
It was agreed to
combine Sections 1 and 2 in Article III and include the wording “The Council
will also focus on other matters related to….” and remove the words “indirectly
related to.”
There was discussion
on Council Membership. Staff Teams
Leaders will be changed to Team Leaders.
There will be five staff reps (including Special Needs) and Team Leaders
will decide on who these members will be in order to adequately cover both
Subject Area and Grade Levels. The
Parent Reps will be changed to two Parent Reps from each grade level and will
be selected to insure all attendance areas are included. It was also agreed to change School
Administrative Secretary to Council Secretary.
Article VI, Section
1 will be changed to remove Administrative Secretary and change the name of
Staff Team Leaders and add the EA Rep.
Section 2 will be removed.
Sections 5, 6 and 7 will need to be looked at in greater detail.
Article VII, Section
2 – remove item c.
The discussion of
the Draft Bylaws will continue at the next School Council Meeting.

reported that the 7th grade team is concerned that the book check in
is too early. Mary Lou Pauly will check
with Pat Randall to see if having parent volunteers help her out would allow
the check in of books to be a later date.
