The minutes from the School Council Meeting on 4/25/02 were approved with the following correction:
Article V - Council Membership – Parent Representatives will be changed to 6 Parent Representatives.

Ron Thiele shared
that the staff has approved the continuation of the SLC/SSR program.
Nancy Campi
presented Draft 2 of the IMS Site Council Bylaws. It was agreed to change the wording in Article III Focus Section
1 to read “The Council will focus on matters directly related to the District
and IMS mission including achievement data…”
Article V Council
Membership Section 1 will be changed to read “21 voting members”, “Secretary”
will be changed to “Council Secretary.”
Section 2 will be changed to read “Each elected member is limited to two
consecutive one-year terms.” The
numbering of the sections will be corrected.
Article VI Election
of Membership Section 3 will be changed to “The Special Needs
Representative.” Section 5 “and will be permanent Council members” will
be added. Section 7 “Two (2)” will be added to Student
Representatives. Section 9 “Secretary
will be changed to “Council Secretary”
Section 11 will be changed to read “Any remaining open positions can be
filled using the election process by the second meeting…” and “remain open”
will be changed to “remain unfilled”.
The numbering of the sections will be corrected.
Article VII Duties
of Members Section 3 “Secretary” will be changed to “Council Secretary” and the
words “a summary of” will be removed from part b.
Article VIII Meetings Section 6 the spelling
of the word “meeting” will be corrected.
The numbering of the sections will be corrected.
Article IX Quorum
and Decision Making Section 2 the words “for final decision” will be
removed. Section 3 change “majority” to
read “2/3 majority.” Section 4 the
words “sixty percent return rate” will be deleted and sixty percent will be
changed to sixty-six percent.”
Article X Council
Committees Sections 2 and 3 will be switched.

Report
Mary Lou Pauly reported that the PTSA approved two of the five staff grants they received. She will be sending out letters soon.

June 7 – Staff Party at Sandie’s 4:30 to Whenever!
June 11 – PM Assembly
It was agreed that the IMS Decision-Making Model, the School Mission Statement and Code of Conduct would be reviewed for correction at a future meeting.
Next meeting will be June 13, 2002 at 2:45 p.m.
