Minutes from the February 27 School Council meeting
were presented and corrected as follows:
1) The statement under Old Business for pop machines will state that Ron
will present the information to the staff for feedback prior to a decision
being made and 2) Under New Business it will state that Ron reported for Sandy

New Business
Ron updated the Council on the
District budget and staffing. The
District needs to cut 1.5 million dollars from the budget. The four middle school principals have
submitted a plan to cut required dollars in the buildings without cutting
staff. This plan now needs to go through
the budget review process. The building
of the master schedule for next year is on hold until the staffing numbers are
finalized.
Far too many students signed up to
take Spanish next year than can be accommodated. It is not possible at this time to add any
additional Spanish classes. One class of
Japanese will be added for next year.
Mary Lou brought up elections for
School Council for next year. Open
positions will come up for election at the May meeting. Let Mary Lou know if interested in serving in
one of these positions next year. A vote will be taken at the May meeting.
