Dynasty Research Timeline

Each group will research and put together a display on the timeline for its dynasty/ies to create a visual history of China. This display will feature important people, events, inventions, literature, and art from the time period. All of the groups will give a presentation of their information on the timeline.

  1. Figure out how long and where your section needs to be. Seven inches equals 100 years.

  1. Evenly distribute the workload of the research project.

  1. Complete your research and add the dates of the dynasty, the main events, important people, inventions or scientific discoveries, art and literature as a display on your section of the timeline. You will have two class periods to complete the research in the library.

  1. Since this is a visual, use size 20 font and write in blurbs (phrases not clauses).

  1. Illustrate your timelines with portraits, depictions of events drawings of inventions and samples of art. Include at least six large illustrations. Both hand drawn and computer generated are okay. Choose a design theme and implement.

  1. Create a map that shows the historical borders of your dynasty. This will be part of your display.

  1. Check to make sure all required elements are finished.

  1. Present your work to the class in chronological order. Each student must have an integral part in the presentation.

  1. Grading: You will be graded both individually and as a group. This is a team effort!
