Japan Trip

Eighteen other teachers and I had a wonderful study tour in Japan. First we visited Tokyo, Hiroshima, and Matsue. Yes, we did go to the Matsui museum, but we don't like the Yankees. Do we!

While we were in Matsue we each had a home stay with a different family. The family I stayed with lives in a very small town so their house was surrounded by rice patties. They had a new, modern house with many high tech amenities, even though they did not consider themselves wealthy.

Next we went to Hiroshima and were able to listen to a amazing talk by a survivor who was only 16 when the bomb was dropped.

The end of our trip was spent in Kyoto where we visited many Samurai period temples, palaces, castles and homes. Very Fun! I'll be sharing much more about this 03 trip and my summer 02 study tour to China and Korea during the year.
